Carnival for the Piala Datuk Santokh Singh held recently at the Padang Seksyen 7 Kota Damansara Petaling Jaya to honor Malaysia’s football legend Datuk Santokh Singh
Datuk Santokh graced the finals, interacted with parents and children and later presented the prizes to the top 4 winning teams. Like in all SportsUnite carnivals, the principle of unity prevailed in that all participating teams comprised players of at least 2 different races at all playing times on the field .It was encouraging to see many teams with 3-4 different races.Single race teams was not allowed to participate.
Response was overwhelming with a maximum of 32 teams taking part some as far as Pahang,Johor and Penang. The incredible support from parents cheering on their children made the event even more memorable.
Datuk Santokh was very impressed by the raw talents he saw and hoped that these promising kids will be guided along the right path with the right training and motivation to excel in the future.
